PRIVACY POLICY and TERMS OF SERVICE

PART I: PRIVACY POLICY

1. Introduction

Remix Career is operated by Remix Career LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Remix Career," "we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights regarding that information.

This policy applies to all interactions with the Remix Career platform, including our website at remixcareer.com, our career assessment, all reports and features generated from your assessment, and any related services we offer, including premium features such as job search tools and application preparation services.

Please read this policy carefully. By creating an account or using any Remix Career service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described herein.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in several categories, each serving a specific purpose in delivering our services.

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and account credentials. If you purchase a paid service, we collect payment information through our third-party payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.

2.2 Career Background Data

To generate your personalized career analysis, you may provide career background information through one of several methods: uploading a resume or CV, entering a written description of your career history, or pasting content from your professional profile. This data is used to understand your career trajectory and inform our analytical process.

2.3 Assessment Responses

Our assessment consists of open-ended reflective questions. Your written responses are central to the Remix Career experience and are processed to produce your personalized report. Because these responses are free-form and reflective in nature, they may contain personal opinions, values, beliefs, career aspirations, and descriptions of emotional experiences. We treat this data with heightened care.

Important: By completing the assessment and submitting your responses, you expressly consent to our processing of this data, including any sensitive personal reflections it may contain, solely for the purpose of generating your personalized career analysis and related services.

2.4 Job Search Preferences

If you use our job search or application preparation features, you may provide additional information such as salary expectations, location preferences, industry preferences, role level, and any specific requirements or constraints relevant to your job search.

2.5 Documents You Upload

You may upload documents such as resumes, CVs, or other professional materials. These documents are stored securely and used only to inform the services you have requested.

2.6 Usage and Technical Data

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use our platform, including your device type, browser type and version, operating system, IP address, pages viewed, and interaction patterns within the platform. We use this data to maintain platform performance, diagnose technical issues, and improve the user experience. We may also collect information through cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in Section 6 below.

2.7 Feedback and Communications

If you provide feedback on your report, respond to surveys, rate the usefulness of your results, or contact us for support, we collect that information along with any communications between you and our team.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Delivering your career analysis. Your career background, assessment responses, and any uploaded documents are processed through our proprietary analytical methodology to generate your personalized report, including archetype assignment, career recommendations, skills analysis, and related insights.

  • Providing job search and application services. If you use premium features, your career profile and preferences are used to identify relevant job opportunities and generate tailored application materials.

  • Improving our platform and methodology. We use anonymized, aggregated data and user feedback to refine our analytical processes, improve report quality, and develop new features. Individual responses are never shared in identifiable form for this purpose.

  • Communicating with you. We use your email address to send account-related notifications, report delivery confirmations, and, with your consent, updates about new features or relevant content. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

  • Ensuring security and compliance. Technical data is used to protect the platform against unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse, and to comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Providers

Remix Career uses artificial intelligence as part of our proprietary methodology to analyze your responses and generate personalized insights. The following commitments govern how your data interacts with AI systems:

  • Your data is not used to train third-party AI models. When we process your information through third-party AI services, we use API configurations that prevent your data from being used to train, improve, or fine-tune those providers' general-purpose models. Your responses remain your own.

  • Data is transmitted securely. All data sent to third-party AI providers for processing is transmitted via encrypted connections and is subject to the provider's enterprise data processing terms, which prohibit retention of input data beyond the immediate processing session.

  • Proprietary methodology. The specific analytical framework, question design, scoring systems, and report generation logic are proprietary to Remix Career. Third-party AI providers serve as processing infrastructure; the methodology and intellectual property belong to us.

  • Internal model improvement. We may use anonymized, aggregated patterns from user feedback (such as report usefulness ratings) to improve our own proprietary systems over time. This internal improvement process does not expose individual user data to any third party, and you will be notified if this practice changes in any material way.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. Under no circumstances do we sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. We work with trusted third-party vendors who provide essential infrastructure services, including cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and AI processing. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

  • Job listings providers. When we surface job opportunities through our platform, we may transmit limited, non-identifying search parameters (such as job titles, skills, and location preferences) to third-party job data providers. We do not share your name, email, assessment responses, or report contents with these providers.

  • Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Remix Career, our users, or the public.

  • Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our platform before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

  • Connected services (with your consent). If you choose to connect your Remix Career account to other products or services, such as a third-party career representative tool, data will only be shared with your explicit authorization. You may revoke this authorization at any time.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to support the functionality of our platform and understand how it is used. The types of cookies we use include:

  • Essential cookies that are necessary for the platform to function, including session management and authentication.

  • Analytics cookies that help us understand how users interact with the platform so we can improve performance and usability.

We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may impair platform functionality.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information, assessment responses, and report data for as long as your account is active, so that you can access your results at any time. If you purchase lifetime access to your report, we will retain the data necessary to provide that access indefinitely or until you request deletion.

If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records or where anonymized data has already been incorporated into aggregate datasets that cannot be re-identified.

Technical and usage data is retained for up to 12 months for platform performance and security purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

8. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, secure authentication mechanisms, and regular review of our security practices.

While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the platform at your own risk.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law and take prompt steps to mitigate any harm.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Correction. You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

  • Deletion. You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions.

  • Data portability. Where technically feasible, you may request a copy of your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

  • Opt-out of marketing. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

  • Withdraw consent. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted prior to withdrawal.

  •

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@remixcareer.com. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.

10. Notice to California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), grants you additional rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not use your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To submit a CCPA request, contact us at support@remixcareer.com. We will verify your identity before processing any request.

11. International Users

Remix Career is operated from the United States. If you access our platform from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws that require a specific legal basis for processing, our legal basis for collecting and using your information is your consent (provided when you create an account and submit your assessment) and our legitimate interest in providing and improving our services.

12. Children’s Privacy

Remix Career is designed for working professionals and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will take prompt steps to delete that information. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@remixcareer.com.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “Effective Date” at the top of this document will always reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of the platform after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

PART II: TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Remix Career platform or any services offered through it, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Agreement”). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the platform. These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Remix Career LLC, a Florida limited liability company.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts in your jurisdiction to use Remix Career. By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Description of Services

Remix Career provides an AI-enhanced career guidance platform that includes a reflective career assessment, personalized career analysis reports, career archetype assignment, skills analysis, career direction recommendations, analysis of how artificial intelligence may affect recommended career paths, curated job listings, and optional premium features such as job search tools and application material preparation.

The specific features available to you depend on the service tier you have selected and any applicable payment terms.

4. Nature of Our Services — Important Disclaimer

Remix Career provides guidance and information for educational and self-reflection purposes. Our services do not constitute, and should not be interpreted as, professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to legal, financial, investment, psychological, medical, or employment advice.

While our analysis is grounded in established career development methodologies and incorporates AI-powered insights, the ultimate decisions about your career are yours alone. We strongly encourage you to exercise your own judgment, conduct your own research, and consult qualified professionals as appropriate before making significant career, financial, or personal decisions based on any information provided through our platform.

AI-generated content, including career recommendations, skills analysis, archetype assignments, and future-of-work analysis, reflects our proprietary methodology applied to the information you provide. These outputs are probabilistic, not deterministic. They are designed to provoke insight and expand your thinking, not to prescribe a single course of action.

5. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account. You may not share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. Remix Career relies on your inputs to generate personalized analysis. Inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading inputs will affect the quality and relevance of your results.

6. Payments, Pricing, and Refunds

Certain Remix Career features require payment. All pricing will be clearly displayed before you complete a purchase. Prices are stated in United States dollars unless otherwise indicated.

Payments are processed through our third-party payment provider. By making a purchase, you agree to the payment processor’s terms of service in addition to ours.

Founding Member pricing, where offered, represents a special introductory rate. The standard price and any conditions of the founding member offer will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.

Refund policy. Because our services involve the generation of personalized, AI-produced content that is delivered immediately upon processing, all sales are final once your report has been generated. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from receiving your report, please contact us at support@remixcareer.com and we will work to resolve the issue or provide a refund at our discretion.

7. Subscription Services

If you subscribe to any recurring service (such as job search features), the subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Remix Career platform for any purpose that is unlawful, deceptive, or harmful. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying methodology, algorithms, prompts, or analytical frameworks of the platform

  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, or similar) to access or extract data from the platform

  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any Remix Career report, framework, or content for commercial purposes without our written permission

  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform

  • Use the platform in any way that infringes the rights of others

9. Intellectual Property

All content, tools, frameworks, methodologies, archetype systems, analytical processes, report formats, branding, and software that constitute the Remix Career platform are the exclusive property of Remix Career LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. This includes, without limitation, our career archetype framework, our assessment design and question methodology, our analytical pipeline and scoring systems, and all report content templates and structures.

Your content. You retain ownership of the personal information and written responses you submit to the platform. By submitting content, you grant Remix Career a limited, non-exclusive license to process, analyze, and store that content for the purpose of providing our services to you. This license terminates when you delete your account, except as to any anonymized, aggregated data that has already been incorporated into our systems.

Your report. The personalized report generated for you is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may share your report with trusted individuals (such as a career coach, mentor, or recruiter) in the course of your own career development. You may not reproduce, sell, or distribute your report or any portion of it for commercial purposes, or represent the frameworks and methodologies contained within it as your own.

10. Application Materials

If you use Remix Career features that generate application materials such as tailored resumes or cover letters, you understand and agree that:

  • Generated materials are based on the information you have provided. The system adjusts emphasis and framing but does not fabricate experience, skills, or credentials.

  • You are solely responsible for reviewing all generated materials for accuracy before using them in any application.

  • Remix Career is not responsible for the outcome of any job application, interview, or hiring decision.

  • Submitting application materials to an employer is your decision and your responsibility.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

The Remix Career platform may display job listings sourced from third-party providers, include links to external websites, or offer optional integration with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service. Your interaction with any third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms and policies. The inclusion of job listings or external links does not constitute an endorsement by Remix Career.

12. Limitation of Liability

THE REMIX CAREER PLATFORM AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Remix Career LLC, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms of Service or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Remix Career in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Remix Career LLC, its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

14. Dispute Resolution

Governing law. These Terms of Service and any disputes arising from or related to them or your use of the platform shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Informal resolution first. Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@remixcareer.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Jurisdiction. If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@remixcareer.com or through your account settings.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or used the platform in a way that could harm Remix Career or other users. Where possible, we will provide notice before termination and an opportunity to cure the violation.

Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will survive.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Remix Career LLC regarding your use of the Remix Career platform. They supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, proposals, and agreements, whether electronic, oral, or written, between you and Remix Career.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the platform after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you must stop using the platform and may request account deletion.
